Our names are Ken and Stacy and we would
like to
start off by thanking you for taking the time to read our profile. We
truly believe that you are a gift from above. If it was not for women
like you, couples like us would never know the joys of being parents.
We know that your decision is a difficult one.
We have had the pleasure of beginning our family
through
adoption in 2004. Our son Jeffrey has been a light in our lives ever
since. Every day is filled with laughter, hugs and tons of kisses. He is
a happy, energetic 4 year old that can't wait to share his toys with a
new brother or sister. He is very friendly and makes friends easily. We
have had the pleasure of being part of a "Moms Club" which has given
him the opportunity to grow up with many close friends, some of which
are also adopted. He loves to be around other children. He has lots of
cousins nearby and plays with them frequently. We are lucky to have
several family members that live close by and Jeffrey has a close
relationship with all of them.
We are lucky to live on a cul-de-sac that offers
lots of room
to ride bikes and play. On the weekends the street is usually full of
kids riding their bikes and scooters. We often buy pizza at lunch for
all the kids to share. We have a large back yard with a playhouse and
soon a swing set. We took the time to start a college fund before we
adopted Jeffrey and have done the same for a second child. Its very
important to us that our children have every opportunity in life.
About Ken
Ken is a wonderful husband and father. No matter how rough his day is
he always takes the time to play with Jeffrey and let him know how much
he is loved. He recently had the joy of teaching Jeffrey how to ride a
bike without training wheels! He truly loves being a father. He
received his Bachelor's Degree in business in 1996 and has flourished in
his career ever since. He always gives his work and family 100%. In his
spare time he enjoys restoring antique cars and riding motorcycles. For
Jeffrey's 3rd birthday he bought him a motorcycle (with training
wheels of course) and often takes him out riding for the day. Ken is
very close to his parents and brother who live only a few streets away.
We often enjoy family camp-outs and Bar-B-Ques and regularly get
together for family dinners. He is lucky enough to work from a home
office which gives him the flexibility to spend a lot of time with his
family.
About Stacy
Stacy is an excellent mother and wife. She has a way of turning tears
into smiles. Since she is a stay-at-home mother, she is always available
whenever Jeffrey needs her. She spends her days taking care of our
home and son and loves her job. She has made our home a place where a
child can feel safe and loved. Every night she reads Jeffrey stories
before she tucks him into bed. They are often doing crafts, painting or
baking cookies. When the children are older she plans to be a member of
the
PTA and be very involved in school activities.
Before she became a mother she worked for several
years in a
prominent Southern California hospital where she worked in radiology.
She also spent a year working as an assistant to a neurologist where
she ran the front office. She received many letters of recommendation
during her years in the medical field but chose to leave the field in
order to become a full time mom. This was her dream growing up—to
become a wife and stay-at-home mother. She has many close friends who
also have children and enjoys spending time with them. She has all of
her grandparents still, a brother, three nephews and even a 104 year
old great grandmother!
Our life together
Ken and I met in 1998 and knew from the start that we were meant to be
together. In 1999, on a cruise in the Bahamas with family and friends,
Ken asked me to be his wife. We were married the following year and
immediately wanted to start a family. After several months with no luck,
we both went in for some exploratory testing and were surprised to find
out that conception would be very difficult for us. We went on a
whirlwind of fertility treatments and I had several surgeries. We tried
two unsuccessful IVF cycles and had come to the conclusion that the
path to parenthood for us was through adoption. Six months after
starting our adoption paperwork, we brought home a beautiful baby boy.
We feel so blessed to have him as part of our lives and can't wait to
expand our family through adoption once again. We feel that having two
adopted children will give them a extraordinary bond that will carry
them through out their lives.
Jeffrey is such a thoughtful and loving child we
know he will
be an excellent brother. Our families are so excited for us to bring
home another child. They have welcomed Jeffrey into their lives with
open arms and know they will do the same once again. Each of them has a
very special relationship with Jeffrey and we know they will also have
that same relationship with a new child.
Since we adopted Jeffrey, he has been on several
cross country
trips. He has been to New Mexico several times as well as
Arizona,Oregon,Washington and Nevada. We have been all over California
(San Francisco,Sacramento, San Diego, Redding, Pismo Beach, Santa
Barbara). We are a very active family. We have annual passes to
Disneyland and try to go at least once a month. Several friends as well
as family also have passes and join us whenever possible. Since Ken's
territory for his job is all of California, Nevada and Arizona, we
frequently join him on his trips. Jeffrey especially loves the swimming pools in
Las Vegas! Every summer we take several camping trips, one of which is a
week in Pismo Beach. We spend a lot of time near the ocean in the
summer. Stacy's mom has a house across from a water skiing stadium and
lagoon. She often takes Jeffrey there to feed the ducks and play in the
local park. If given the chance to raise your child , they too will enjoy
all of the activities and love that we as a family share.
