Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us but most importantly for considering us as the adoptive parents of your baby. We are Todd and Mary and we have been happily married for ten years. We are so grateful for this opportunity to share a glimpse of our life with you. We cannot begin to understand how hard it is for you as you read through these letters. Writing our letter has been the hardest part of our adoption journey. We wanted to find the right words, the “please pick us” words, that would show you how much we want a child in our lives. But the truth is we share the same desire as all the other couples you have read about, we just want so much to be parents.

From the beginning of our marriage we knew that we wanted to have children. We had no idea that we were about to start a long and heartbreaking journey. After a couple of years with no luck we received the news that endometriosis was the cause. We tried everything…surgeries, injections, IUI and IVF. Each time we felt certain we would be parents only to be let down again. After trying IVF we decided no more heartaches and turned our energy to adoption.

We are very close with our families and spend as much time as possible with them. We love to entertain with backyard cookouts and pool parties. This has become a tradition and something that we look forward to each year. We have a cookout once a month starting in May and end with a fall cookout complete with smores by the campfire.

We have a wonderful support system through family and friends. Adoption has always been a part of our lives and helped to grow our extended families in the past. We are fortunate to have cousins to lean on that have already walked our path. They wait with us and feel all the excitement as we wait for that call. They know the joy that it will bring to us.

We own a three bedroom home in a quiet community in east Tennessee. We have a large private yard and a spacious deck with a swimming pool. Our home is within minutes of wonderful schools, lots of shopping, and many restaurants. We also live close to the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area. This is a great family vacation destination where we often go. We share our home with a Chinese pug named Max and three cats, Tootie, Minnie, and Zoomer.

We have found financial stability through owning a family run business. We have two locations and are fourth in the nation in sales. Our business has enabled us the freedom to see so many wonderful places. We love to travel and have been fortunate to spend our vacations in the Hawaiian Islands, cruises to the Caribbean, Spain, and Rome, Italy.

As a couple we share a lot of the same interests. Our favorite times are simple…grilling out, Saturday movie nights, and throwing the top back on our jeep or 65’ mustang for a drive in the mountains. We look forward to the day that we can spend times like these with our child. We have so much love to give and are excited to start the next chapter in our lives as a family.
