We are Mike and Darya. We have been happily married for ten years and have one daughter, a 2 ½ year old little girl named Madeleine. She was our little miracle baby, who came to us after years of infertility. We have a loving happy home in southern California, in a safe and quiet neighborhood. Our home is close to playgrounds, schools and other recreation, and offers lots of space for children. We are looking forward to even more joy in our lives, when we bring a new little baby home with us, expanding our family and giving our daughter, Maddy, a sibling.
We have a wonderful life, with a very happy home, emotional stability and financial security. We hope to share our story with you, and give you comfort and confidence in making your decision. We know that this is an important time in your life, and hope that our story will give you peace of mind. Our Past Mike and Darya met 12 years ago and married after dating for two years. We were both mature and financially stable when we decided to join our lives in marriage. It was the first marriage for both of us, and neither of us had any children. Once we married, we were already a bit older for having children, but we wanted to make sure that our marriage was a strong and lasting relationship before we had children. When we started trying to have a child, after consulting with a doctor, we learned that it would be very difficult to do so. We both really love children, and so enjoyed our time with our nieces and nephews. We really wanted to have our own children. Our efforts finally resulted in a little miracle with the birth of our daughter Madeleine, named after Mike's maternal grandmother. The day Maddy was born was the greatest day of our lives. We love parenting, and we also love having siblings, so we are hoping to add to our family through adoption. Mike Mike is a wonderful daddy! He is a hands-on daddy, and being a daddy is his greatest joy. He is great with Maddy, and loves to play and read with her. He is also very funny. Even though he does not sing very well - at all; he entertains Maddy with a song that he has made up for her each night after dinner. He grew up in a very loving home in Baltimore, Maryland. Mike and his 3 older brothers gave his stay at home Mom plenty to worry about, with 4 young boys running around their suburban home. His dad is a doctor, and even though he worked a lot, it was always clear that his boys were his first love. Mike learned how to love and appreciate his family from his Lebanese immigrant parents. Mike works as a finance executive at a technology company. He has had a successful career and works hard, but always makes time for his family, reading and learning, and outdoor activities. Darya Darya loves being a mom. It is the most fun and rewarding experience she has ever had. She spends her free time with Maddy, going for walks, playing in the backyard, gardening, baking cookies, playing at the playground and walking to the ice cream store. There are lots of kids in the neighborhood, and Darya and Maddy often have play dates with Maddy's best friends. Darya grew up with two younger brothers, in a very loving home, in suburban Chicago. Her family loved to travel together, and the kids grew up having great adventures in Europe and Mexico. Her mom and dad were devoted to the kids, and each other. Life at home was about family, with a regular sit down family dinner, and homework time afterwards. Darya was born in Iran, but emigrated to the United States as a young girl. She finished high school in the United States, and became a CPA at first, but then decided that she could combine her family life and work life better as an investment advisor. Darya has flexible hours in her job and can often work from home. Madeleine Maddy is a wonderful 2 ½ year old, with lots of spunk and energy. She is very funny and always makes us laugh. She is quite well loved and is very confident. She loves babies and is so excited to have a little brother or sister. She is going to start pre-school soon, so she will be busy part of the time, and will not be able to take care of the new baby full-time. But she trusts mommy, daddy and Victoria (her babysitter from the time that she was 4 months old), to take care of her sibling in the same great manner that they took care of her. Maddy loves to go to the play ground, play hide and seek with her grandpa, and to have tea parties with her grandma. She takes ballet and swimming, and spends time at the library reading books. She can say her ABCs and can count to twenty, but her most favorite thing to do is going to the beach. Our families We are very fortunate to have healthy grandparents to share our lives. We also love to spend time with our cousins, aunts and uncles, and are lucky that some extended family live close to us here in southern California. Grandma and grandpa on both sides of the family are well loved in our home, and the local set come over very often, while the long distance set come and stay for a month every year. We travel to see our far away siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles, but see our local ones just about once a month. Maddy has 7 first cousins, and lots of other little second cousins to play with. Our Home We built our own home in southern California a few years ago, and really enjoy living in a place that we helped create. We enjoy year round sunshine, and could not live in a more beautiful place, near the coast, with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Our house is very sunny, bright and comfortable, and has lots of space for children to play indoors and out. Our backyard is full of flowers and trees and is a sunny place for children to play. We like to play and garden outside in the yard, but can also walk to the beach, the playground, and other parks near our home. Our house has 4 bedrooms, and a playroom. Our living room is a large open area that opens to our backyard. The baby would have a room in our home, and share a bathroom with Madeleine. Our neighborhood is filled with children, and is a safe and secure place for families. Our Present We enjoy a wonderful life, full of love, fun, emotional stability, financial security, and good health. We love to go for hikes and picnics and outdoor adventures. There are many places that we like to go, like the aquarium and the zoo. We love to read as a family and read to Madeleine every night. She says her prayers before bed each evening. On our vacations, we love to travel to places like Europe and Mexico. We love to celebrate holidays and special occasions and usually try to make them magical and special events for Maddy. We make a big deal of the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, and have fun trick-or-treating as a family on Halloween. Our Dream We look forward to having another baby to cuddle in our arms, love and nurture. It is our dream to bring another little baby into our home, to expand our family and to give Maddy a sibling. We want to nurture and cherish our new little baby, and raise him or her to be a wonderful person. We feel that we have so much to offer another little one, unconditional love, a warm and stable home, lots of guidance, and a happy peaceful home. Our family is our greatest joy, and we are very committed to each other and to our daughter. As mature parents, we are very focused on the most important things in life, and not distracted from parenting by our own needs.
